The winter birds in our garden.
How nice it is to walk through snowy woods accompanied by the songs of wood dwellers? Many birds spend the winter in Germany and delight us with their presence. In today’s post, we report briefly about them and give a few tips about their winter feeding.
• The Nuthatch is easy to recognize in his black blindfold and the orange bottom. The Nuthatch is streaked on the back. The cute little bird has a unique way of climbing on tree trunks and branches up and down and even head down while he is looking for insects.
The Nuthatch denied access to its arboreal like other birds. The entrance is sealed with clay – up to a small hole about 4 cm in diameter. His name can be derived from this.
These little friends also eat seeds and nuts.
• The great spotted woodpecker has a colourful black and white red plumage and an elaborate flight. His nest pointing behavior is interesting because of the conspicuous knocking. The great spotted Woodpecker feeds on insects, insect larvae and spiders, as well as berries and nuts.
• The lively Eurasian blue tit is the only blue and yellow bird in Europe. They can be seen with white face, the black eye stripe and blue-colored wings and black feathers. We find the Titmouse moving constantly in our gardens. His singing is remarkable. The food in the form of dumplings is particularly suitable for this bird.
During a mild winter, birds can easily get their own food. At low temperatures they need help in the form of protective bird houses or small delicacies. How nice to find a visit by these cute birds in your garden or on your balcony?
Feed should be construed only in the winter, from November to end of February. The little feathered friends like clean house, so the place for the house should be carefully selected, where there aren’t any other animals running around. The house should also remain dry. The food could simply consist sunflower seeds and mixed bird food.
